At Innisbrook Golf & Spa Resort near Tampa, the South Course rises to the challenge

With tight fairways, some water and closely guarded greens, the South Course is worth your time, Jeff Berlinicke writes.

Copperhead Course at Tampa's Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort: Play where the PGA Tour pros play
The Copperhead Course is the most well known of the four at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort. That's because Copperhead is where the PGA Tour's Transitions Championship is played every March. Copperhead is a worthy host and is a must-play course for anyone who travels to the Tampa Bay area, Jeff Berlinicke writes.

Doral Golf Resort & Spa: A Miami legend turns 50 in 2012
Few courses have hosted the pros longer than Doral Golf Resort & Spa's storied TPC Blue Monster. The iconic Miami resort celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2012. Doral looks better than it has in years. There's a commitment to top conditioning year-round at all five courses, not just tournament week on the Blue Monster, and a $16 million renovation added elements previously missing, and upgraded others. Doral isn't getting any younger, but she sure doesn't look like an old maid.

Brooksville Country Club might be a little off the beaten path, but with its rolling fairways and elevations, it is unique to typical Florida golf. The fourth and sixth holes play brilliantly over ponds to their respective greens. Sandwiched in the middle is the photogenic signature hole, the 160-yard fifth, featuring more water.

The first impression of Eagle Landing at Oakleaf Plantation is a doozy. Players are greeted by a waterfall flowing behind the 10th green. Designed by Clyde Johnston in 2006, Eagle Landing has earned a reputation among its customers as a playable layout that's always in good condition. It's got enough surprises -- like its own version of the church-pew bunker at Oakmont -- to keep golfers coming back.
