Picture this: More than ocean to the Ocean Links golf course at Amelia Island Plantation
AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. -- Don't let the length of the 6,100-yard Ocean Links Course at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort fool you. First off, it's a par 70 and secondly, this is a real shotmaker's course. You get that sense right from the first tee, a short par 4 that calls for an iron or hybrid off the tee and a small, elevated green on the approach.
What this course is known for, of course, is its ocean views. And although only five holes of this Bobby Weed-designed course are on the Atlantic Ocean, they are striking and difficult.
The inland holes are pretty good as well, with lots of freshwater lakes, a few forced carries from the tips and imaginative greens complexes.
