Florida Golf Course & Resort Reviews
Great greens make Panther Run Golf Club a bargain just east of Naples
Panther Run Golf Club is probably the best value in southwest Florida. Located roughly 30 minutes inland from Naples, this Troon Golf-managed facility is just far enough out of the way to keep costs down but close enough for golfers to make the drive. And the wide fairways and superb greens make it worth the trip, Jason Scott Deegan writes.

Fly like an Eagle at The President Country Club in West Palm Beach
The President Country Club's Eagle Course is one of two 18-hole layouts at this semi-private club that opened to the public in 2011. It's not particularly long at 6,887 yards, but add water on 15 holes, and you've got one heck of a challenge. Even without wind, it's a great test of target golf, but with six sets of tees, it's playable for all levels, Mike Bailey writes from West Palm Beach.

At Innisbrook Golf & Spa Resort near Tampa, the South Course rises to the challenge
It doesn't get as much recognition as the Copperhead or Island Courses, but the South Course at Innisbrook Golf & Spa Resort deserves in Palm Harbor its place right up there with its more publicized sister courses. With tight fairways, some water and closely guarded greens, the South Course is worth your time, Jeff Berlinicke writes.

The Copperhead Course is the most well known of the four at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort. That's because Copperhead is where the PGA Tour's Transitions Championship is played every March. Copperhead is a worthy host and is a must-play course for anyone who travels to the Tampa Bay area, Jeff Berlinicke writes.

Few courses have hosted the pros longer than Doral Golf Resort & Spa's storied TPC Blue Monster. The iconic Miami resort celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2012. Doral looks better than it has in years. There's a commitment to top conditioning year-round at all five courses, not just tournament week on the Blue Monster, and a $16 million renovation added elements previously missing, and upgraded others. Doral isn't getting any younger, but she sure doesn't look like an old maid.

Brooksville Country Club might be a little off the beaten path, but with its rolling fairways and elevations, it is unique to typical Florida golf. It might not be worth planning a vacation around, but if you want a day away from Tampa or Orlando -- and to see some courses that do not look the same -- head for Brooksville and take advantage of golf with a Northern-style.

With two designer courses -- the Ocean and the Conservatory -- golf is an important component in what Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast has to offer. It appears to be a toss-up which course to play if you only have time for one. For a more traditional experience with great views of the Atlantic, you might choose the Ocean Course. If you are a links devotee with a love for nature and rolling marshland and have a good bunker game, play the Conservatory.

Water appears to splash everywhere at The Golf Lodge at The Quarry in Naples which opened in 2007. But rest assured this private club plays gentle and forgiving as long as players chose their clubs and angles of attack wisely, Jason Scott Deegan writes.

Bradenton offers some great golf deals, but the best find might be Rosedale Golf and Country Club, a Ted McAnlis design that opened in 1993. Rosedale isn't the easiest course to find, but it's worth tracking down. Why? Because it might be southwest Florida's most underrated course, Jeff Berlinicke writes.

With so many choices for golf in the Tampa Bay area, it's tough for one course to stand out, but Wentworth Golf Club in Tarpon Springs offers great facilities and a challenging course that requires every club in the bag. Just remember to stay out of the sand -- and there is plenty, Jeff Berlinicke writes.

Serenoa Golf Club isn't the longest golf course in Sarasota, but it might 'play' the longest. Designer Mark Alden decided to bring water into play on every hole and make it a shotmaker's course, giving the 6,333-yard layout the feel of a 7,000-yard design. Serenoa isn't your typical Florida golf course, Jeff Berlinicke writes.
