Very Links feel, LONG par 4 with water on the right short to medium and water left near the green requiring a long carry if you are in the left fairway. TOUGH Photo submitted by Gage6692955 on 10/06/2012
Great course
Really nice greens and turf, lots of bunkers to avoid. Some more trees would be nice and a few rough and weedy holes, but not affecting play. Overall very nice and challenging course but a bit pricey for the conditions of the rough and preserves.
Best greens I've ever seen. Fast and true. The layout is typical florida target golf. Short par 4s require layup off the tee. But most holes you can let it rip off the tee. 150 bucks is pricey but ok i guess for this time of year
Over rated
Course was in good condition and it’s a good lay out. Pace of play was terrible - almost a 6 hour round. Tee-off time was delayed by about 20 minutes. They need to have a ranger out. some of the groups behind us did not finish due to darkness. Range was included but I couldn’t find any grass to hit off - you get time to learn how to hit out of divots.
Overrated, overpriced
Course layout was a good challenge - lots of doglegs, small greens that were hard to get up and down from if you missed. It's a "links" style course, wide open track without trees.
Greens were far too slow, grains were long and badly needed to be cut. Rough was dormant. Tee boxes were fine. Carts had GPS and included water.
Just no way of justifying the increased price tag of this course after playing other courses in the area. It's the most expensive at $240/round with the only way to snag a deal by booking a Twlight round less than a week in advance, and that's still $179. Back 9 was slow, we were over 4:30 to finish.
Difficult and Fun
First time playing a great course. Very challenging but set up well. Played from the blues and it lived up to the hype. Links style course with quite a few gradual doglegs and long carries over water/waste. Some tight greens that were in perfect shape. The staff is just as great. Special thanks go to Russell in the Pro Shop who really took care of us. We originally couldn't find a time on the International course so booked National. Russell was able to find a time for us on International and made us feel welcome and like we were old friends. Mike another one of the Pros was great as well. He gave us some pointers on a few of the holes that really helped as we were playing it for the first time.
I was a little worried about playing this time of year as I heard rounds in the Orlando area can exceed 6 hours. We teed off at 9:20 and were done by 1:00. Overall, a great experience and can't wait to visit again.
