The Country Club of Miami offers two championship golf courses, the East and West, designed by Robert Trent Jones. Arnold Palmer served as the club's first golf professional when it first opened in 1961. Despite having the same designer and sharing the lush, rolling landscape, both courses provide a different experience. The longer West Course is the more challenging of the two but the East Course still demands accuracy. It is more than 500 yards shorter than the other course at 6,451 yards, but the thoughtfully placed hazards will force even experienced players to really think about their strategy since the correct shot placement will yield major rewards. Both golf courses have played host to a number of celebrity players over the years, including Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, and the club's most famous member, Jackie Gleeson.
