West Palm Beach Golf Course has hosted a variety of tournaments since opening in 1947, some that have included famous players such as Arnold Palmer. This historic course stands out from all of the area's public courses. Unlike Florida's many flat courses, West Palm Beach has an undulating terrain that provides interesting elevation changes. The course features elevated tees and greens and rarely is there a flat lie. The rolling hills are covered with native vegetation, palm trees, and mature pines and oaks. There is also no water to be found on the golf course, another rare occurrence in this area. In 2009, the course underwent a major renovation that made it environmentally friendly. There is also a full grass driving range and large practice area that overlook West Palm Beach Golf Course.

Unfortunately not in good condition. Only the greens are ok.
Dried Out
When I arrived I was informed that the sprinkler system for the course hadn't been used for two weeks and would be turned on till mid-January, so the fairways were dried out, yet the tees/greens were lush and green just in running fast. The course still has tons of relative Hurricane tree damage with a slow pace of cleaned and repair being done. For the price the weather conditions. the day was perfect for a South Florida Winter's day of golf. Just wish the course was in ideal conditions as has been in month's past.
Very disappointing conditions
Greens were the only area of the course that had any watering. Fairways had almost no living grass and several were almost like one big waste bunker. I hit 3 drives in the middle of the fairway that got no roll because they landed in an area where there was no fairway grass and just the sandy layer under the turf was exposed. It looks like a nice layout at one time but apparently there is no money for even the most basic of golf course maintenance.
Unfortunate course conditions
From conversation with those who play this course regularly we discovered the fairway sprinkler system had failed resulting in dead grass and sand over 90% of the fairways. The course layout was good and you could see how this atvone time was a great course to play. With the conditions and no mention of this prior to paying I was disappointed. There was not fee reduction either. I would have preferred better conditions for my only Florida golf opportunity on this trip.
Never Again!!!!
No grass on fairways. Course in extremely poor condition. The only positive point were the green in relatively good shape. Aside from that this course does not worth a visit.

Only green grass was on th greens. Rest of course was pretty well just stubbles of grass and sand
No Fairways
This was one of the worst courses I have ever seen or played. Looks like they have never watered the brown Sandy fairways. Most of the greens were puttable but what a disappointment and waist of $52.
This course looks thirsty
I'm not sure what has happened to this course, but we've had more than our fair share of water in the past two months. The fairways were nothing but sand, and taking an approach shot was like hitting off of a dirt road. We moved the ball 5 yards at times just to get a lie. It wouldn't hurt to rake a bunker once in a while either. With all of the courses around the area in tremendous shape, it was a shame to play this one today. We're not coming back anytime soon. This place needs work.

Great place to place, very friendly staff that make playing their fun always. A must play course if you enjoy having a great time.
Awful fairways, decent greens and bunkers.
We played at 7:45 am and finished in under 3 hours. The fairways were terrible as they lacked grass. The greens and bunkers were in good shape. Should have been a $25 round versus $40 in my opinion.

Great layout needs tlc and some management 101 but worth playing. Clippings still on first 3!holes w 7:09 tee time. Range closed. Starter very grumpy
