Last hole, a wicked par 4 Photo submitted by sandzman on 06/21/2014
Love the layout, but the condition is sad
I have played here frequently for the last 5 years because I love the layout of the course. However, the condition of the course has severely gone down recently. It was never tour ready, but it is pretty pathetic. The greens were like putting in a backyard, the tee boxes were uneven, and the fairways were covered in weeds and barespots. The price was $25.00, and I know you get what you pay for, but the bottom line is that I would rather pay more money to for this course to make it. We had to basically make a rule that any putt six inches from the hole was good because the conditions were so bad. This place has changed ownership several times, and all promise to improve it. But the fact is, it is built on an old landfill, and has pretty much lived up to being a dump, sadly.
go somewhere else
the weather wasn't that great, but if I would have paid more than $10 I would have wanted my money back
Bay Dunes Review
Cow pasture used for target practice. For the price, it was better to play than go to the range. I play this course during the holidays annually and the greens rarely roll true.
good
I will recommend this cours to my friend comming frond canada
Great course, tough play.
Bit narrow, you will need the golf gods help if you get caught under a tree off the fairway. Ditto if in the deep rough --ball will all but disappear.
enjoy playing this course
The course is better than the last time we played following re seeding and a good rainfall.
Would play it again
Worst course in the United States
I clearly did not perform my due diligence with the review of this course prior to booking and it is my fault. I flew in for the day on business and made a quick reservation...and mistake.
This course should be scraped away and replaced with something else more useful. I could not distinguish the difference from the tee;s fairway, or greens. Fact is i never even used my putter as i have never putted on a fairway before in actual non restoration play. one of the ravines was actually old pieces of asphalt dumped that must have been from the cart path or parking lot, if it was the cart path, they should have at least replaced it with new.
The best thing of this adventure was i now can laugh and carry the story with me of the worst day of my life and why.
Do not play this course unless you are looking to drive off the beaten path and waste your time and money!!
Great golfing experience
We enjoyed our time at Bay Dunes. The course was in good shape, especially considering the amount of rain that this area had this summer.
It is a beautiful course with several moderately difficult holes. Just enough challenge to keep it interesting.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcomed. We will be back!
Good Course for the money
Overall, a good course. Greens need rolling, were bumpy and had crabgrass in places. Only bad thing was there was a six players playing together holding up the hole course. Would've been nice if they weren't so slow.
nice lay out
It had been a while sense I had played this course.
I must say I was surprised to see how much the
course has been improved!
They are still working on the drainage on the course and
the greens were the best I`ve seen. looking forward to playing
again
some great holes on this course.
bay dunes has some great holes with no houses on the course. the back nine has my favorite holes to play in all of bay county. ROLLING fairways around lakes that are challenging . The greens are pretty good too. This is a fun place to play .
Locals call it The Dump for a reason
Tee boxes in very bad shape..Over all it reminds me of a cow pasture with 18 flags on it
Play it Despite its condition
A course that is trying to recover with new ownership. Terrible range, balls, bunkers lacking sand, little real fairway grass but despite it all it's a course with some great holes once you get through the first 4 .
Give it a chance and see what it once was and what it may once again become with dedicated new ownership.
This course is fun.
Lots of golfers out the day we played. Backed up. Got all 18 in.
Course is in good condition. Will play again soon.
Course in Horrible Condition
We have been playing golf in the Panama city area for
over 30 years and never played Bay Dunes because of
its location. 15 miles from the beach. We decided to play
because of the price. $25. Well, needless to say it is overpriced!
I have never played a course in worse condition which is saying
a lot. I have played over 350 different courses.
nice coarse and in good shape
we paid half price ($17 including cart) online and as such was a great deal
It is a good coarse for any level of golfer. Some of the fairways were open and wide enough for the type of golf we are looking for.
The greens were some of the best we found around.
This is a very nice course. It is challenging at points, but not to difficult for your average amateur. It has an interesting layout, and other than a recent rain making the fairways a little squishy it was a great play.
does not drain well
played after a hard rain the night before & alot of water on the course. not fair to judge the course because of conditions
Badger golfer
Low budget course. Greens fair. Fairways dormant Bermuda with bare areas.
