Bad condition!!
Has new management. Hopefully they can get this course cleaned up. Greens were really rough. Fairways weren't even mowed. Sand traps had water, no sand, and grass growing in them.
Panama City has an 18 Hole full size community golf course again
Bay Dunes has been resurrected. I stumbled on it on the internet looking it up recently out of curiosity, called a listed phone number and got an actual person believe it or not! (872-1667/1704) Give it your business, and play your game. Of course, give them time to thin out the roughs, green up and smooth out the greens, water in what Mother nature hasn't rained on to, also so they can give us clean soft white sand to play in with our beach balls. I had fun playing it, I learned I had to commit to staying within Fairway/Greens regulation hits from now on, which significantly helped my game anyway; straight and sure. Anyway, the greens are pretty fast and smooth, good 'as ever here', use your irons out of the rough or else you'll never get out. I got better in 3 days using my head(103, 87, 81). Hold your head down, hit clean, straight and get on the greens. ALWAYS WATCH EVERY SHOT TILL YOU SEE EXACTLY WHERE IT ENDS UP! Nice new mgmt. I'll brag that I got 2 birdies on hole 16, and birdied 18 my first time ever by landing on the green within 5' of the hole using my 7 iron and then putting in. So you see, even while the course is 'in the works' you can still have memorable moments!

Dump Golf
If you have played this course before you know what I mean when I say "dump golf". The course was about what I expected to see. The greens (??) were fast but it was like putting on a washboard. You never knew where the ball would go. No water on the course, not even a hose at the equipment shack. So if its hot spend some dollars in the pro shop or be very dehyrated. I guess for the price its ok. You get to hit balls and your would spend at least double the price to go across the bridge. But be warned you get what you pay for.
Your visit was about a month after taking over management.
We are sorry you were not satisfied with our course. We have only taken over in the last five months and continue to repair the underlying issues with the course. We continue to work with the property owners (Bay County) and continue to wait for their work to be completed so we can repair the top surfaces.
All of our greens have recently been reseeded and top dressed providing a much more uniform surface.
All of the bunkers are scheduled to extensive repair over the next three months. This also includes repairs to underground drainage.
Our fairways are mowed weekly in the slow growing season and greens daily when conditions permit.
We hope you will return to see our continual improvements to this course.
Visiting from Ohio
I choose this course because it had the cheapest deal for a twosome in the area but it would've been better to pay for a 70 dollar course. First thing if you play at lunchtime be sure to eat first in Panama City. The course is in the middle of nowhere and does not offer any food or alcohol.
The grounds are so poorly kept you cannot tell what is fairway, rough, tee box, or greens. Basically it's like someone went out dug pins and pu markers 350 yards away and called it a golf course. Putting was like playing a game of plinko on the Price Is Right.
I diffently wouldn't recommend this course to anyone even though it is the cheapest in the area. In fact I wouldn't recommend Panama City as a golfing destination for all the well kept courses are 60-90 dollars and not anything better than say Myrtle Beach which ranges around 30-50.

Goat track
Positives:
1: Pretty good layout only a few Mickey Mouse shots to hit.
2: New management company seems positive about the future and was friendly
Negatives:
1: No one has watered the course in about two years. Hard as a rock and little grass, even the greens.
2: See number 1
3: "new owners" took over about a month ago "and are ready to get it back in shape" yet no one was doing ANY work on the course?!?!?!?
4: See 1, 2, 3.

Our irrigation system has greatly been repaired!

Bad Course
The course was in terrible condition. I lost 3 balls on the fairway in the high grass and clover, yes, CLOVER. The greens were nothing more than weeds cut short. We quit before finishing our first nine it was so bad. Obviously the course has severe financial problems.
You had played our course nine days after taking over management.

Selling of course
The course is in process of changing hands and I am hoping that is why the ruff on side of fairways need cutting . It was hard to find ball if you didn't but in venter of fairway. The staff was awesome. But course need a bit of TLC
Great layout, needs lots of work!
This course could be great! It's a shame to see such beauty destroyed by lack of maintenance. The only way to make money at this course would be to improve it. It will never last in its current condition! Hopefully someone will see the potential here and give it a go! It's worth it!
Lots of potential
This course has an interesting layout with lots of potential. Every hole is different, which is nice. It has a lot of potential but it's a little rough. The greens and the tee boxes could sure use some work. I wouldn't pay the regular rate but the deals we got through Golf Now made it good value.
Course needs work
It was apparent that the course's future is not certain. The Pro shop said that it might be sold at the end of March. The lack of regular watering did give the the fairways long rolls. It's too bad to see a course that could be excellent be allowed lose its luster.
Needs attention
Great layout, could be a beautifull coarse if a lot of work be done ,cart path had more bumps an potholes than any I've played. The greens need grass other than fairway grass. These problems if corrected would make this coarse a goto golf destination
nice bang for your buck
this course needs a lot of work but the layout is great. The staff is very friendly, but you can see they have not put any money into it for a while. That's too bad...it has great potential. A couple of the holes were pretty difficult, but overall a very fair test of both your long game and your short game.
Wet Wet Wet
You get what you pay for
Course conditions on the poor side
For the second round of golf this winter good starter coure
Could be a nice course, needs some TLC
Thank you for your review. Bay Dunes is a public course with very reasonable pricing. Thank you for playing Bay Dunes.

Too wet
Good layout but sabatoged by poor conditions. Built on a landfill but not sloped to drain properly. Could be a lot of fun, but not if you are playing standing in water at every shot.
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback. Bay Dunes is a public course that offers a good value. Rainy weather can be troublesome for many courses. Thank you for playing Bay Dunes.

This course needs some work
The course has very poor drainage...standing water everywhere...lots of mud puddles. Greens were not in great shape. Golfing here at this time of year was better than at home...where we had a foot of snow on the ground.
Thank you for taking the time to review Bay Dunes. As a value course wet conditions can be problematic as they are for many courses. We hope you will visit us again in drier conditions. Thank you for playing Bay Dunes.

Descent course for the $. Grounds not in best shape but greens were to not bad. I would play it again.
Thank you for your review and for stating you would play Bay Dunes again. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing you soon.

Could be a nice course
Bay Dunes could be a nice course if the funds were available to bring the condition back up.
The cart paths are run down; the course does not handle rain well; the fairways can be sparse in some areas; the bunkers are virtually non-playable. Greens were reasonable and rolled quite well. The pace of play was very good at 3.5 hours.
The Golf Now rate makes this course a good value and recommended.
Thank you for your feedback and recommending our course. We offer great value for the overall quality of our track. We hope to see you back at Bay Dunes soon.

Course was ok Cart paths not so good
Nice layout but wet in places. Otherwise the course was ok. Needs more grass in the fairway. Greens were nice.
Thank you for your review complimenting our greens and layout. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing you on the course soon.

Bit of a dog track
Course was kind of wet, as it is my understanding that they have had some drainage issues for years, partly because it is built on a landfill. Hard to find enough grass to hit off of, and greens were pretty hard and wet. For the money it was okay, but I'd just as soon pay a bit more for a better course. Probably won't go back unless nothing else is available. The two gentlemen I played with were great, and they guided me around, steering me away from the bad areas.
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback. Our 18-Hole Championship Course is a nice track with great value. We experienced quite a bit of rain prior to your round and hope you will come back to visit us in drier conditions. Thank you for playing Bay Dunes!

North East Panama City area golfing
I love the value for the price, located nearby for anyone living in the Panama City area, or north or east side of town, and also worth the drive down 231 if coming from the beach for a good discount round of golf. The management team are friendly, the reconditioned fairways are greener and have rain runoff compared to previous years. I like the raked traps, barren rolling terrain, water challenges and general country landscape lets you get away from the rat race, the carts are superb and the other golfers are friendly. They've done a 'Good Ole American Improvement Effort' compared to the way the course was years ago, and it's getting better every day. In the past, the greens were NEVER any good and the fairways were waterlogged, before this new management took over, and now they are very much improved. This course, with its rolling curvy terrain with indigenous trees and numerous lakes in comparison to other local courses that are flat and lined by mostly pine trees, is a plus. I wish it was called something like hidden hills, or shadow lakes or something more appropriate, but in any case this is a great and affordable golf course for beginners and experienced players(just step back a tee box if you want more challenge, its there) and the opportunity for sensational draw or fade tee offs, over the tree tops eagles, and 'show off' final finishes on holes 9 and 18 in front of the clubhouse patio crowd, which boosts our confidence. For the money, it's got golf magnetism, the food(burgers, dogs, etc) is good but who has time to eat, and you can walk pulling your cart and get good health, or ride in the quality ELECTRIC carts(NO STINKY GAS EXHAUST), and the daily and twilight hours prices are great too. Great wide open driving range, putting green and practice area too. Good season prices also. The manager and staff are personable and just 'good people'.
