This golf club is an incredible rip-off! I joined in 2003 and paid $30,000 for the privilege of being allowed to play. I was promised at that time that the Club would be shortly building a Clubhouse for the benefits of membership, and that I would be promptly reimbursed my $30,000 should I decide to resign. In January 2010, due to the recession and because I was not using the Club very much, I submitted my resignation effective 12/31/09, and requested repayment of my equity initiation fee. However, despite numerous requests for repayment, I have never been repaid one dime of compensation, and at one point was advised by Michael Brooks, the General Manager, that it would take over 22 years and 9 months before I could expect to be repaid. In April, 2016, I was advised by another Club representative that this repayment schedule had been reduced to 10 years + and that reimbursement would only be made on a five members in, one member out basis, with priority given to estates of former members. Meanwhile, the management has changed hands several times, and the new Clubhouse which I was promised in 2003 was finally built in 2016, presumably from monies which could otherwise have been distributed to reimburse resigned members like me. While the course itself is challenging and well-maintained, and the staff courteous and accommodating, management's refusal to honor its financial commitments to me, and their ongoing breaches of fiduciary duty under Florida law, have so tainted my views that I cannot recommend this Club to anyone with a modicum of intelligence and decency.
