Panama Country Club in Lynn Haven originally opened in 1927, making it one of the oldest golf courses in the area. The course has a traditional links design with classic features including wide fairways and small greens. Donald Ross designed the course. Ross, who was an apprentice under Old Tom Morris, was no stranger to the famed links golf courses of Scotland. He used his knowledge to transform the Florida landscape, incorporating strategically placed bunkers and rough in creative ways that give the terrain an entirely different feel. The layout is gentle enough for beginners but it still has challenges that stand up to modern standards. The golf course stretches across lush meadows that overlook the North Bay, another feature that gives Panama C.C. the feel of a seaside Scottish links course.
