  Fairways have sparse cover but that really doesn't matter as there is only one par 4 on the 9-hole course. The greens are challenging, mostly because the grass is long and shaggy. Unfortunately, the owners do not care for the greens on the executive courses of The Villages like they do on the championship courses. If you're looking to work on your chips and short pitches, it may be worth your while. Otherwise, it is just a pleasant stroll.

  I love Sweetgum. It is challenging, pretty, and the wildlife is wonderful. I especially like the par 4 where I try to shoot between the trees.
  
  For the whole executive course system Sweetgum rates high for me.
