What you expect for $20
We didn’t know before we got there that the front nine was closed, so we played the back twice. No ranger and the group in front of us super slow. Greens were terrible, tee boxes terrible.
Cow pasture
I’m only writing this review to warn other people, Golfnow should be ashamed of advertising this course It is in horrible condition from the club house through at least 8 holes. I quit at 8 the course should not be open nowhere on the course is good and then had a 4 ball in front of me would not let me play through and then on 7 another cart joined them to make it a 5 some I wish I could get my money back but that will never happen
Nice track
This is a nice golf track. Plenty of fun , interesting shots to the greens. Only problem was that the greens were subpar. Spotty grass and dirt greens.
Great Value and ideal for amateurs
A little hard to find as it’s located deep into a community. Directions on website take you a half mile out of your way, so if you’ve never been there it is a little frustrating.
Course is by far from manicured. Clubhouse is rough ..... but let’s get to the good stuff!
Employees / bar tender were super kind and helpful. Ran into a group of regulars who were nice enough to give out pointers and invite me to their next weeks gathering.
The wife and I had all the time in the world to play at our own pace. Never felt rushed or in danger of upsetting someone.
Course is challenging even for someone who is seasoned .... nice layout.
For the $, this is a great value for a chill day. Very relaxing and our business was appreciated.
Fun day
Always fun to play. Might not be in perfect shape but fun to play and enough challenges to keep you on your game. Thanks Billie we’ll be back
So sad to see the property in this shape
Greens are in great shape relative to others in the area. Fairways are sporadic at best. But where's the challenge in playing in the fairway? Rough lives up to its name. Definitely rough. I worked at Grenelefe in its prime and it is sad to see the property in this shape. Loves the South course, but it was closed. However, I enjoyed my rounds on the East and it was a good value with the 'hot deals' on GN.
Still pretty good
South course is already closed, too bad I like that one. However East is in pretty hood shape, some greens need a little work , but still great for $10 on golf now. All fairways a are green and cut nicely. Billy’s done a good job getting it in shape. I Love the place. Always a relaxed atmosphere . I shot a 77 last time I played so I’m very pleased
Poor condition
Course was in terrible condition and there was no break point after the first 9 holes. Would not recommend this course to a friend.
Bang 4 UR buck
What a deal! Where are you going to play a Arnold Palmer designed course for 30 bucks. If you’re accustomed to dropping 100+ dollars per game this might not be the course for you, but I love it. So challenging. So much water.
Mon at Grenelefe East
I was matched up with a 3 some and that was the best part of the day. The service was horrible and complained that I was a Golfnow user. If they don’t want GolfNow Golfers, then why advertise here?
Average at best.
Course is part of an aging resort. It’s clear that there is not a lot spent for the upkeep of the courses. The fairways are being taken over by clover. Overall though it was an enjoyable layout Fun and challenging at times. My biggest complaint was the 5-some in front of me that would not let anyone through. 3 hours a side is way too slow.
First time playing this course. Can say I was very disappointed. Staff was friendly but the course was not well taken care off. Greens were pathetic. Fairways not any better. I was stuck behind a group of three that were regulars and they wouldn’t let me play through even though I was a single player.
Grenelefe East
Course was not in good condition. The greens were in terrible shape. Not busy, and I can see why. Course needs a lot of maintenance!
Needs a lot of TLC.
The course is in pretty rough shape. The greens on some of the holes resemble the surface of the moon. This course is not beyond repair but definitely needs some TLC.
Underwhelming
My 1st impression was that it was a course from a low-budget movie about golf, like Caddyshack and everything seems to still be in the 60's-70's. Everything is just very dated and several buildings that appear to have been abandoned.
I played the East course as there was another course closed. My biggest problem was the yardages on the course because the sprinkler heads didn't have covers, which meant the only yardages I got was the 150yd marker. The greens were decent and considering everything else, they were probably the best part of the course. The fairways were just OK.
To me, the course looks like someone decided to build a golf course in their backyard and did. I'm sure back in the day it was a great course, but today...not so much. At least it wasn't busy, so I got my round done in 2 hours.
