Mayacoo Lakes Country Club

This is my favorite private golf club in the South Florida area. One of Jack's first designs, and frankly probably one of his best, looks like a classic golf course with lots of mature and tall trees, but at the same time has the feel of a modern course. The course is challenging, as every hole seems to be either surrounded by tree lines or water. Each and every hole is laid out to perfection. Designers Jack and Muirfield did an amazing job with every single aspect of the golf course. This is one golf course I would not get tired of playing. The course conditions are insanely good, the tee boxes are without blemish. The fairways are lush green and kept in perfect condition. The greens although had been top dressed with sand recently, rolled perfect and true. Some greens did have a few patchy sandy areas, seems like they're going under maintenance, but it did not deter from my amazing experience. The only one thing about the course that frustrated me were the sand bunkers, they seemed to have a thin layer of sand with densely packed subsurface, which made it very difficult to get out of. Maybe the bunkers were they way the were, because of all the recent rain. Bring your A-game when you play at Mayacoo, because you have to be straight off the tee, your wedge and iron game has to be dialed in too. All greens are well guarded with bunkers, so your approaches have to be spot on. The practice facilities are some of the best I've seen. The 19th hole is super nice and modern. Bottomline, Mayacoo is 5 out of 5 stars, and if I could I would give it 6 stars.

This course was a stunning true test of golf with the most amazing picture post card holes. we were amazed at the lay out, challenge and design. This is a must play you will not be disappointed.

This was the first course design by Jack Nicklaus and some say one of his best. Beautifully landscaped private course lined with lots of pine trees and palm trees. This plus the fact that 13 of the holes have water hazards makes shot placement critical here. While challenging , the course is fair no matter which of the six tees you play from. Great conditioned course. Jump at a chance to place this lush course.
