nice course great value
course is not in great shape but the layout is nice fun course very inexpensive!
I wouldn't play here again if it were free.
Fairways are very rough.
Staff was very unfriendly. I had to sit and wait for my designated time before being able to check in. Wasn't allowed to have a cart to load my clubs or drive to the putting clock even though they had plenty of carts.
They acted like I had cheated them by coming in with a paid internet round.
the course has limited food
the course has been over seeded, but still not in good condition. need more work.
Bad shape
Did not pay a lot that day but
Bad green
Not clean
Need a lot of care
Hope this is just temporary for them otherwise will lose it
Driving range condition
Green fees cost same as bucket off balls - about what it was worth - res-seeded (should be advertised as such) - greens unputtable - temp. tees - cart path only - nothing cut. SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ADVERTISED OR OPEN!
Ain't what it used to be.
Magnolia Valley needs a lot of work currently. The greens were in really bad shape, almost "furry" on some. I saw a guy working on the 9th green(which I birdied) and he said the back nine is worse. Poorly maintained tee boxes. 5th tee had no water in the ball washer. Just not in great shape right now.
Course needs a lot of work.
Course was not busy at all. Good place for beginners. Many holes are narrow especially on front nine.
The course was in poor condition, especially tees and greens.
The course was in very poor condition. The tee boxes were bare with little grass. The greens were mostly bare and many had patches in them. The back nine greens had sand/fertilizer all over them and some were like putting in sand trap. The price was very cheap (afternoon) but was not worth the cheap rate.
is quite
the course was in alot better shape then two weeks ago.
Good for the Money
Lets start off with I paid $7 to play here .I think it was a $10 course so it was good for what I paid. Overall it is in poor condition Lots of bare areas bad tee boxes bad greens etc but I like the layout and the staff was very nice. I had played there a few years ago and it was much nicer I would say a $25 course I don't know what happened but they let it go the Fairway wasn't even mowed and I played on a Sunday (a prime day) but I did have fun played 2 balls it was dead so no hold ups never saw another group all day :) finished just under 4 hours the wife and I took our time Lots of breaks it was like 90 plus the day I played. They did have ice cold water every few holes which is nice and the cart was very new and comfy a plus for me. Overall play here if you get a deal price is very worth that deal.
Wet, Wet and More Wet
The course is a retention pond for the Magnolia Valley Housing Development and is flooded after every major rain. The course conditions are OK during a dry stint but avoid playing during the rainy season. My partner and I were covered with mud, our shoes were soaked and carts had to remain on the paths at all times. There was standing water on the fairways of most holes and the greens were brown/tan.
Great value, Great fun, Great staff and nice fairways.
The course is tight and short but forces you to hit your spots. If you like to hit your 7,8 & 9 irons after a nice drive you'll love it.
Good layout however, course needs a little TLC
Played course on 10/14/12 and it appeared that the grass catcher on the mower was not attached, big chucks of grass in the fairways were present throughout the entire 18 holes. Several greens had large bare spots. Overall, I had fun, I enjoyed my round at Magnolia Valley. I would love to see this course better maintained.
Paid for 18 holes
walked off course after 8 holes/ skipped a hole to get around SLOW play and ran into two group( both on same hole) and got tired of waiting10/211
overall nice & customisable
The course has tee boxes for all level, that you want to play an executive or regulation course, you can make it your choice. Enough water features to make it a slight challenge but not so you loose all your balls. For those of us that golf all summer, we know how important it is to have water available, this course has water stations all over. The only downside; some of the greens are in deplorable conditions.
