The 18-hole Red Course at Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1964. Designed by Robert von Hagge, Red Course at Doral Golf Resort & Spa measures 6101 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 131 and a 69.4 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.

Water comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes and many of the greens are elevated, a trademark at Doral, and demand crisp approach shots to score well.

At 6,146 yards from the tips as a par-70, length isn't a problem here, but that doesn't mean the course is a pushover. Unique to the Red Course are two island greens at the par 36th and 14th holes.

My wife and I played this course in early March 2 weeks before the PGA tournament. It is an overpriced, fairly ugly, short course about on par with mediocre municiple courses I played as a kid. Greatly disappointing. The $30 breakfast and $10 parking fee were also special.

The starter was a nice guy however.
