What was a good course has gone bad
The tee boxes and more so the greens were absolutely terrible. The greens were half sand and what grass there was; was spotty at best. And, 2 holes had temporary greens. We were very surprised to find these conditions and will not return.
changling
The coures was to POOR conditin, was told by fall the coures will be in better condition. For the northerns will have it back in shape. In other words we don't realy care if you don't like it but it will be in shape for the season people. It seem like the reguarles are not as improtion as the seasons are.I like the coures and willing to travel almost one houre to play there but will be a long time me or my friends will be returning there, hpoe they can get it up for the people who play year around.
Course is in rough shape
If they would have let us know the course was in this type of shape I would not have wasted our day. All of the greens were in horrible shape with 2 of the closed and a temporary green was put in place. The greens that were open were mostly sand or dirt and a little bit of grass. I have played this course before and it was great but this time was a complete and total waste of money.
Needs work
They are in the middle of Green renovations and have 2 temporary greens. Would call first if you don't like that. Overall it is still a nice place
Ranger very rude
Terrible experience. Greens were worst I have played in 20 years of golf. Fairways were burnt out and tee boxes were sand. Only highlights were the food and beverage. The ranger was borderline harassing our group the entire time we played. Made us feel uncomfortable and unwanted. All three of us are also 8-12 handicaps. Pace of play was not an issue.
Play smart golf
This track has it challenges, its a good thing to look before taking your shot on blind spots. As stated in previous reviews 14/16 are temp my group and I agreed to only one putt and move on. There was a disclaimer posted in shop and starter restated and gave insight of what they are doing June/July all should be good.
Diamondback course
This course is in terrible shape, most of the greens have very little grass on them. There are two temporary greens set up as the regular green for these two holes is in such poor condition. Really disappointed in the course and the cost to play should be drastically reduced!!
Worst Greens Ever Seen!!
They should be closed down and not reopen until they have greens playable. Most greens were poor with sand, patches of grass, dirt, holes, ridges, no true rolls, just bumps and varied speed due to lack of grass. Two greens were closed and temporary greens were cut into the fairway, they were only slightly worst than the other greens. I live in Florida and play twice a week at numerous other courses, this is by far the worst. I will never go back and would recommend others avoid wasting time and money to play at Diamondback
OK for the money
Course was OK...Greens in rough shape....not much water but Sand traps the size of small towns everywhere....torrential rains came in after 9 with Tornado warnings got a raincheck for 9...will try to get back and finish while we are here. Guy in the Pro Shop was a Steelers fan and did not like our Patriots gear....won't hold that against the course...LOL
Needs some TLC
The course overall is in fair condition and would have been very good value for the greens fee paid. However, the greens are in terrible condition. Only three greens had more grass than sand on them, it was a really disappointing round.
do not waste your money
the course is a disaster! the greens are terrible. tee boxes are all sand . the place is in bankruptcy. it is just plain awful!
No great features
Visually a very nice course that at one time was most likely quite beautiful. Now it is obvious that they need more money to bring this course back to what it once was. The greens were terrible. The tees were awful and the fairways were below average. The traps were impossible since the sand was so soft the ball just sunk down like it was almost plugged.
Good course
The staff let us know that a freeze had damaged many of the greens so they were a mix of grass and sand. They did a good job of fixing as best they could. We paid 27.00 a person which was a pretty good price. Would like to come back once the greens are fixed and play it again.
Greens very poor
Played here many times over the years but was really disappointed. The greens were woeful and the course lacked TLC. Staff were very friendly which was the only saving grace.
What a shame
This course has been so neglected as to be unplayable. He greens were wastelands and the rest of it not much better. A great layout left to deteriorate by, as we were told, " the bank". Providence costs a few dollars more but is Augusta compared to Diamondback. In these conditions, the course is not worth playing at any price.
Course was ok
Greens were in bad shape, overall course was ok, nothing stellar.
Could be nice.
Poor fairways, no grass on greens. Tee boxes in poor condition. The course needs major work to be enjoyable to play. Not worth playing again for free.
Not good…..
I did not play it for almost one year, as I was warned and concerned about the course conditions. And it is not good yet at all. The most greens are in very bad shape, one was even not playable and a kind of “winter green” was placed in front of it - without warning at the tee box concerning the distance as the hole was played shorter… The fairways are some places not good either.
Although an interesting course, which requires precise shots on some holes, with the current conditions it is not worth the money – there are some good courses very closed for the same or even less money.
