Waterlefe Golf & River Club
1022 Fish Hook CvSituated along the banks of the Manatee River, Waterlefe Golf Club is defined by its water features, which come into play on nearly every hole. The course is definitely tough, especially for high handicappers, so don't be surprised if you lose a few balls. In addition to the water, mature oaks frame the gently sloped greens. The layout was designed by Ted McAnlis, a NASA engineer turned golf course architect. McAnlis routed the course along the river as well as through lush preservation areas, providing plenty of scenic respite from the demanding challenges. The ninth is one of the toughest holes, with more than 200 yards of marshland between the green and the tee. Waterlefe Golf Club's finishing hole is memorable as well, thanks to a tricky island green.
